Regional government activates crematorium for pets in Maracay

The Metropolitan Cemetery of Maracay, capital of the state of Aragua, presented a specialized cremation service for pets, operating directly from its facilities under the management of the Maracay Cemetery Foundation (FUNCEMAR).

This new unit, authorized by Mayor Rafael Morales, emerges as a response to the historic need of Aragüeño families to have a decent, respectful and accessible alternative to dismiss their pets. The service is fully operational in the Casanova Godoy parish, according to a press release.

The care protocol is based on individual cremation, which guarantees ethical and reliable management of the remains of each animal. To ensure transparency in each case handled, FUNCEMAR provides an official cremation certificate, thus complying with administrative protocols and providing owners with peace of mind about the final destination of their faithful companions.

With this initiative, the municipal government not only offers emotional support to citizens in times of loss, but also addresses a critical public health issue by preventing remains from being improperly disposed of on land or common spaces.
