Regional government begins comprehensive intervention in Parque del Sol in Maracaibo

With a comprehensive intervention in its 13.5 hectares and eight sports facilities, the government of the state of Zulia will rehabilitate El Parque del Sol.

The governor of the state of Zulia, Luis Caldera, specified that these are “decent spaces for Zulian athletes to train, compete and grow.”

Caldera toured the entertainment spaces located in Maracaibo, where the work that will be carried out will be the removal of weeds, waste collection, afforestation, lighting of spaces, identification of tanks, recovery of poles, transformers and perimeter fencing.

In the main sports space in the region, the recovery of road tracks and parking lots began. The next stages of work correspond to the approach of the facilities, as well as the Belisario Aponte Indoor Gym, where the installation of 400 tons of air conditioning began for air conditioning, the recovery of the indoor soccer field and the combat gym, regional press reported.

It is expected that in the next stages, the athletics track and the popular grandstand of the Pachencho Romero Olympic Stadium, the Misael Vílchez bicycle track and the eight combat sports gyms located in the Luis Aparicio Stadium will be serviced, according to local media.
