Revolutionary Town was deployed in the parish of 23 de Enero, in Caracas to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the physical departure of Commander Hugo Chávez.
Edgar Blanco said he had mixed feelings, nostalgic because Commander Chávez is not physically, but happy that his legacy is still more alive than ever. “Chávez was the one who defended working people, women and those most in need, gave a voice to ordinary people.”
“We remember Chávez as the angel of the Fatherland, as the hero, as the leader who awakened civic-military union with his humility,” he added.
Teresa Milla, recalled that Chávez was the first feminist in the country, he was a teacher, a leader, who is loved, remembered, longed for. “People love it and we see them demonstrated in every march.”
“One of the greatest principles that Chávez taught us was to be humanists, to work and to love our country,” he said.
For his part, Jorge Manzon assured that talking about Commander Chávez is talking about love, solidarity, an internationalist who always fought for the union of peoples. “He rescued our national symbols, our love for what is ours,” he said.
He also said that he remains loyal to the Bolivarian project that is now led by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, “our president of peace and love.”
Meanwhile, Erick Pérez assured that although 12 years have passed, love for the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez continues to grow in the hearts of Venezuelans.
“Chávez lives in the hearts of Venezuelans and also in that of many countries, because he not only thought about the well-being of his people, but of the peoples of the world,” he said.
The great mobilization will have as its point of arrival the Mountain Barracks, where the remains of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Cháve z Frías, rest.
