During the delivery of the document containing the electoral calendar proposals to the National Electoral Council (CNE), the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, assured that he will respect the decision of the Electoral Power on the date of the presidential elections to be held this year 2024.
“This Commission, this round of dialogue, only brings proposals for general principles but mainly our willingness to fully respect the decisions taken by the National Electoral Council, from now until the glorious night when it issues the first bulletin and reports the results of the winning candidate,” he emphasized from the headquarters of the CNE.
He stressed that, since the Bolivarian Government, the electoral schedule has always been respected in all the elections that have taken place, while the extreme right has always had a position of sabotage: “Those who play with various agendas. Here there must be only one agenda: that of democracy, which cares for and respects the voice of the People.”
He stressed that he repudiates the so-called sanctions against the country, while calling for respect for independence and institutions.
“The CNE is the only one qualified by the Constitution to hold electoral events,” he said.
