Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio , current Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, will take office as Chancellor in charge of Colombia, following the resignation of Laura Sarabia from the cabinet of President Gustavo Petro.

One of Villavicencio's main challenges will be to address the bilateral crisis between the New Granada nation and the United States (USA).

“Starting tomorrow, I begin a connection with Vice Chancellor Rosa Villavicencio, who will assume the Foreign Ministry. We will be working together and I will be handing over all my management over the past six months to him,” Sarabia said, confirming his resignation.

Rosa Villavicencio is an economist from the Cooperative University, specializing in international cooperation for the development of the Complutense University of Madrid, and she also holds a master's degree in migration and intercommunity relations.

She has been involved in the public sector for almost two and a half years, where it stands out that she was a contractor for the security department, attached to the Government Secretariat of the Mayor's Office of Bogotá and advisor to the consular affairs department of the Revolving Fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
