Rules published for the costume contest for Caracas 2024 International Tourist Carnivals

This year, the Mayor's Office of Caracas will hold an individual costume contest for the Caracas Happy 2024 International Tourist Carnivals, Mayor Carmen Meléndez announced this Friday.
“Show your creativity and originality by participating in the Individual Costume Contest that we will have at these Caracas Happy 2022 International Tourist Carnivals,” he wrote on his account on the social network X.
The contest opened last December and you have the opportunity to register until January 30.
In order to participate, applicants must formalize their registration through the website www.turismocaracas.com.
After confirming their participation, the applicant must provide a copy of the identity card of the person responsible or representative, the name and identity card of the person who will wear the suit, an explanatory review of the costume, the resume of the designer or creator, inspiration, history, materials used, list of companions.
This event will be able to participate in this event by artisans, designers, dressmakers, costume designers and any other creative person from all over the country and abroad.
The suits must have the following dimensions: 1.80 to 2.50 meters high and 1.50 to 2.50 meters wide and between one and two meters long, they may have wheels and must be handled only by the person who exhibits it.
The banner must say the name of the Fantasy or the Costume and the name of the designer or creator, which must cover the respective logistics as well as the transfer of the costume to the stipulated place for the fashion show.
For this contest, the use of materials such as paper and cardboard that may break during the parade, as well as sharp and/or pointed materials that may cause accidents, will not be accepted, in this case they must be justified in the suit and covered with finishes that protect it.
Inspiration is free, they will not be allowed in the same messages that violate morals and good morals, suggesting the representation of our traditions and customs, history, nature, heritage, arts, among others.
The evaluation of the costumes will be carried out by a jury made up of experts in different areas such as art, culture and design.
These experts will be responsible for evaluating creativity, visual impact, materials, finishes, presentation, color and relevance
“The Mayor's Office of Caracas and the Government of Caraca has established the right to oversee the development of the costume and may suggest changes to it, for this purpose it has a schedule for the execution and development of the work in situ (only Caracas) or by electronic means (messaging, photographs, live calls, among others) on a weekly basis upon receiving the proposal for participation,” refer to the rules of the competition published by the mayor of Caracas.
The parade will take place on Monday, February 12 and 13 at 10:00 in the morning.
