Russia: A plane with no passengers on board crashes near Moscow

Three people on board lost their lives while no casualties were reported in the area

This Friday, a Sukhoi Superjet 100 plane crashed near the city of Kolomna, about 95 kilometers southeast of Moscow, capital of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The entity explained that there were 3 crew members on board. According to preliminary data, all the people on board died and there are no victims among the residents of the area.

The plane belonged to the company Gazprom Aviac, according to the local Transport Prosecutor's Office. The aircraft had been in operation since 2014.

Emergency services indicated that the plane crashed during a test flight after a repair. It is reported that the pilot managed to direct the device into a forest. Emergency services reported that an engine failure could have caused the accident.
