This Tuesday, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, arrived in the People's Republic of China to begin a momentous two-day official state visit to the capital, Beijing. The Russian president is accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes his main ministers and economic advisors, responding to a formal invitation from his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.
The central reason for this meeting is the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good Neighbourhood, Friendship and Cooperation between the two nations. Through this mechanism, both leaders seek to ratify and expand the joint declaration of their “limitless” strategic alliance, consolidating a common front in the face of the current scenario of international tensions.
During the working meetings, Putin and Xi Jinping will address as a matter of priority the strengthening of economic and energy cooperation, the use of their local currencies in the face of trade sanctions, and security in Eurasia. In addition, the leaders will coordinate their political positions within the BRICS bloc with the objective of continuing to promote the transition to a multipolar world order.
The trip takes place through intense days of bilateral dialogue that reflect the deep harmony between Moscow and Beijing. This arrival not only commemorates a historic milestone in their diplomatic relations, but it also functions as a key platform to ensure the commercial and military exchange of two of the most influential powers on the planet.
