The Russian space agency ROSCOSMOS and the National Space Administration (CNSA) of China signed a memorandum for the construction of a power plant on the Moon, which was included in the package of documents signed by the presidents of Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, after the meeting held as part of the Chinese president's visit to Moscow , as part of the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War.
“The Russian power plant will become an important contribution to the International Science Station on the Moon project, which is scheduled to be created by 2036,” the Russian space agency said on Telegram.
In the future lunar station that Russia and China will build, scientific research will be carried out and new space technologies will be tested, according to the Russian space agency.
The future Russian power plant will represent a key contribution to the ambitious International Lunar Science Station (ILRS) project, which both powers plan to establish by 2036.
