This Wednesday, a delegation of the Russian Federation, led by presidential advisor Vladimir Medinsky, offered the press a detailed account of the trilateral negotiations with the United States (USA) and Ukraine held in the city of Geneva, Switzerland.
Medinski described the talks as “difficult, but efficient”, stressing that the next round of dialogue will be scheduled this Wednesday with a view to advancing the resolution of the ongoing conflict.
The duration of this second meeting, which lasted more than two hours, made it clear that, although there are points of tension, there are also elements of agreement that could pave the way to a regional solution.
Among the aspects highlighted by the Russian delegation are the need to establish strict military control mechanisms, in addition to the recognition of current territorial realities.
Russia insisted that any future agreement must incorporate safeguards that protect local populations against external threats, a line that, according to the official interpretation, seeks to balance security with respect for regional dynamics.
