Russia condemns Israel's aggression against Syria

Last Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation condemned Israel's attack on Syria; it described it as a violation of the sovereignty of that Arab nation, and of the norms of international law.

Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that “Israeli planes carried out attacks in the vicinity of Aleppo and Damascus that killed and injured dozens of people, including civilians.”

“Once again, we affirm that such aggressive actions against Syria constitute a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and of the basic norms of international law,” he said.

Likewise, Zakharova argued that these aggressions should not be accepted, while stressing the consequences that such subversive maneuvers bring to the region.
