Russia: Defense Ministry says liberation of Kursk region enters final phase

The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergey Shoigu, stated that the liberation of Kursk province and the expulsion of Ukrainian fighters from that territory have reached their final stage.

Shoigu emphasized that so far, Russian troops have liberated more than 99 percent of the territory of the Lugansk People's Republic and “almost two-thirds of the Kherson region, the Donetsk People's Republic and the Zaporizhia region.”

Until March of last year, in the Kursk conflict, Ukraine had suffered the loss of more than 67,150 soldiers, 392 tanks, 316 infantry vehicles and 278 personnel carriers.

In addition, armored combat vehicles, artillery units and various missile launchers, among other equipment, were lost.
