Last Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, during a press conference following his speech at the meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in New York, criticized the organization for ignoring the massacre of Palestinians by Israel.

“As for the correlation between support for Israel and support for Ukraine, there are a lot of similarities... In almost 10 months of Israeli operation in the Gaza Strip, about 40,000 civilians, mostly women and children, have died, and about 80,000 have been injured,” he said

Lavrov noted that “the civilian casualties of both sides in Ukraine and Donbas in the 10 years since the coup d'etat are 2 times lower (than the Palestinian casualties in Gaza).”

The Russian Foreign Minister referred to the tragedy of the Kiev children's hospital: “Recently, when we carried out attacks on Ukrainian military and energy infrastructures, one of the missiles was shot down by the Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense located, by the way, in violation of international humanitarian law, between residential facilities, (...) and the wreckage fell on a children's hospital in Kiev.”
