An agent of the Ukrainian special services, who intended to carry out a terrorist attack against a high-ranking soldier of the Russian Ministry of Defense, in Moscow, was arrested by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).

The detainee was identified with the alias of “Cuervo” who had been recruited in a third country, according to a statement from the press service of the Russian agency, which details that the suspect “manufactured a homemade explosive device and hid it in a car purchased with enemy money”, following instructions through the Telegram messaging service.

The FSB discovered that the vehicle, loaded with more than 60 kilograms of explosives, would be parked in a place designated by Kiev instructors and detonated the moment the high-ranking military selected as the target passed nearby.

The detainee, who has both Russian and Ukrainian citizenship, said he agreed to commit the terrorist attack in exchange for avoiding mobilization.

He explained that during a family reunion, he met an employee of the Ukrainian special operations forces, who offered him documents in exchange for sabotage actions.
