This Thursday, the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, during an interview with Russia Today (RT), assured that if the United States (USA) attacks the Islamic Republic of Iran, Moscow will consider the measure to be erroneous, since it will cause a significant escalation of the situation.

He warned that his country “believes that this would be an erroneous measure. Moscow believes that this can lead to a larger escalation, to a major escalation, and will further complicate the situation in the region.”

In this context, the Russian spokesman stressed that there is a risk of geographical expansion of the conflict to other countries in the region.

He stressed that there is a possibility of an escalation at the nuclear level and that US intelligence assessments maintain that Tehran is not actively seeking the development of a nuclear weapon and does not have one.

“President (Vladimir) Putin is one of the few presidents who has maintained telephone contacts since the beginning of this war with both the Prime Minister of Israel and the President of Iran, with the President of the United States, with the President of Türkiye and with the President of the United Arab Emirates,” he said.
