This Monday, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Andrei Rudenko, said that his country will demand a clear response from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the recent incident at the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
Rudenko noted that the situation at the Iranian nuclear power plant remains calm despite the incident of the bombing by Israeli forces against that Iranian facility, built and operated by Russian specialists.
The incident constitutes a flagrant violation of all IAEA rules, norms and principles, and he emphasized that Moscow will demand a clear response from the IAEA to that fact, the diplomat said.
Iranian authorities notified the IAEA about the impact of a projectile on the Bushehr nuclear power plant. The international agency reported the destruction of a building located 350 meters from the operating reactor.
In addition, the director of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, condemned the attacks on operating nuclear power plants.
