As of this Tuesday, February 10, dust from the Sahara is expected to be present, in mild to moderate concentrations, over the national territory.

This was reported by the authorities of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) through their account on the social network Instagram, where it became known that it will gradually move from east to west over the country.

Inameh has repeatedly explained that it is a mass of dry air loaded with particles of sand, minerals and dirt. The presence of this phenomenon causes a reduction in air quality, it can also affect the reduction of visibility and limits the formation of clouds in the territories.

It is common for these clouds to follow a trajectory from North Africa to the west over the Atlantic Ocean. However, although it is usually short-lived, the presence of trade winds at certain times of the year makes them more likely to travel thousands of kilometers.
