SAIME eliminates five-year extension for passports

The Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Aliens (SAIME) reported that the issuance of the single five-year extension will be waived as an exceptional alternative to extending the validity of the ordinary Venezuelan passport.

According to the SAIME publication on the social network Instagram, this decision corresponds to the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

“Ordinary five-year passports, legally issued by Saime before April 15, 2021, and which have a single five-year extension duly stamped, will remain valid until their expiration or expiration date,” the institution added.
