Saint Vincent and the Grenadines commemorates the anniversary of its independence with honors to the Liberator

The ambassador of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines accredited to Venezuela, Gareth Bynoe, led the wreath this Monday before the sarcophagus that holds the mortal remains of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, in the National Pantheon of Caracas, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 46th anniversary of the independence of the Caribbean nation.
The ceremony, which symbolizes the brotherhood between the two countries, was accompanied by the Deputy Minister for the Caribbean of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Raúl Li Causi; the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz Angulo, and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Caracas.
Through his Telegram channel, Foreign Minister Yván Gil said that the Bolivarian Government, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, sends a fraternal embrace and sincere congratulations to the Government and the People of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for the 46th anniversary of their independence from British colonial rule.
He assured that the island country “opened a glorious path towards sovereignty, self-determination and development, framed in its own identity and oriented towards South-South integration, celebrating this great milestone and ratifying the solid friendship and alliance” between the two nations.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was the last Windward island to gain independence from the United Kingdom on October 27, 1979, after a referendum that granted it full autonomy
En in the context of the 80th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), which was held last September in New York, Minister Gil spoke with the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, reaffirming the diplomatic relations they have maintained since 1981 and ratified the integration mechanisms such as ALBA-TCP and the Agroalba program, focused on food sovereignty in the region.
