School Games vibrate in Caracas

The current phase of the 20th National School Sports Games opened this Wednesday at the “Consuelo Navas Tovar” District Educational Unit in the parish of El Paraíso, Caracas, with sports exhibitions that will see action on this first rung of the competitions.

The event was attended by the Secretary of Education of Caracas, Patricia Castro, together with the president of the Municipal Sports Institute (Imdere), Harold Ramos, who endorsed the start of the first phase of competitions in the district region.

They were joined by 600 students from the school together with their teachers and members of the community, in a festive atmosphere where different sports exhibitions were presented and the pebetero was lit as an emblem of the beginning of the school sports festival.

This event brings together thousands of student athletes of all levels and modalities, aged between 7 and 17, from 19,000 official and private educational institutions nationwide.

The first phase takes place across the country from January 29 to March 27 and will focus on nine disciplines: athletics, court volleyball, 5×5 and 3×3 basketball, chess, futsal, kikimbol, baseball five and artistic gymnastics.
