With the objective of awakening scientific curiosity in young people and deepening the study of crystalline structures, in the state of Mérida, the National Scientific Semilleros Program organized the Crystal Formation Chemistry workshop.

The head of the program at the entity, Aron Mercado, said that “this activity seeks to promote practical learning and critical thinking in the next generation of researchers in the country.”

During the day, which included a presentation by guest speaker Astrid Mora, the participants addressed the fundamental concepts of crystals and crystalline solids.

Mora highlighted the importance of teaching chemistry to high school students. “It is essential that they understand the physical and chemical phenomena present in nature and in daily life,” he said.

The president of Fundacite Mérida, Nathaly Mora, assured that these workshops “go hand in hand with the pedagogical processes that are taught by the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology to children and young people”, allowing for progress in the training of young people for the development and recovery of the country, promoting scientific and technological knowledge in the nation.
