Second Joint Commission between Venezuela and Equatorial Guinea installed

This Monday, in Malabo, the Second Joint Commission between Venezuela and Equatorial Guinea was installed, with the intention of strengthening cooperation in sectors of common interest.


“On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, it is an honor for us to inaugurate this session of the Second Joint Commission on Cooperation between Venezuela and Equatorial Guinea. This event represents an invaluable opportunity to strengthen development and friendship between our peoples, envisioning great results on the path to a shared future,” said the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil Pinto, on his Telegram channel.


During the installation, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed Venezuela's desire to strengthen its relationship with Equatorial Guinea, which “is not a mere temporary geographical coincidence, but an alliance based on the fundamental principles established in the United Nations Charter: the self-determination of peoples and non-interference in internal affairs.”


He specified that this Joint Commission is a “privileged way to advance in the areas of energy, health, culture and trade. These are strategic sectors, through which our nations can complement each other in an exemplary way.”


The head of the diplomatic portfolio emphasized that “south-south cooperation is a tool for overcoming common challenges, sharing experiences, knowledge, resources, innovative positions adapted to our reality”.


In addition, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister applauded the resilience and courage of both peoples, who have “faced historic challenges, which have tested our capacity for resistance. It is precisely that strength that today allows us to look to the future with hope and determination.”


For his part, Simeón- Oyono Esono Angué, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Diaspora of Equatorial Guinea, emphasized that this meeting is an opportunity to address issues of common interest and to strengthen the ties of cooperation that unite these countries.


He stressed that Caracas and Malabo share the same democratic values and diplomatic relations based on the right to sovereign equality of peoples.
