The Teresa de la Parra National Youth Literature Competition returns, this time with its second edition, an initiative of the National Book Center (Cenal), the governing body of the Book and Reading Platform of the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC).

Until March 15, 2026, this call will be open, aimed at young high school students across the country. Venezuelan or foreign girls and young people residing in Venezuela may participate.

Young people from 12 to 14 years old can participate with unpublished texts in the letters or stories category, while young people from 15 to 18 years old can do so in the free themed stories, letters or essays category.

The winning works for each state will be published in an anthology by The Dog and the Frog. El Cenal will award a certificate to the winning contestants.

The complete rules for participating and other aspects of how to submit manuscripts are published on the Cenal website www.cenal.gob.ve.

For inquiries and submission of the works, email is available: [email protected].

In this way, the Cenal celebrates the life and work of Teresa de la Parra, who is one of the most distinguished representatives of Venezuelan literature, whose legacy remains valid as an inescapable influence on the writing of different generations of creators in the country.
