The national secretary general of the opposition party COPEI, Juan
Carlos Alvarado, warned that sectors of the extremist right may sing
fraud in the regional and parliamentary elections on May 25.
“There can be no blackmail here, they are trying to get on the path
of abstention, what we have to do is promote the vote on
May 25,” he said during a press conference, reports Venezuela News.
In addition, he explained that they only seek
to enter the electoral process and then try to sabotage the dialogue process that the opposition Democratic
Alliance has been carrying out.
With regard to the elections in the territory of Guiana
Esequiba, he pointed out that this historic electoral process is important, while denouncing groups
that try to prevent it.
“Today, the waters and territories of Guiana
Esequiba, which belong to Venezuelans, are in danger. Those who question the electoral
process are complicit, they cannot make medium colors in the defense
of this territory,” he said.
On the other hand, Alvarado congratulated the massive participation of the Venezuelan people in the electoral simulation, held last Saturday at all 1,177 voting centers in the country.
