This Monday, May 19, the
sectoral vice-president for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reported that
eight Venezuelans returning to the country were captured with
explosive devices that would be used for the terrorist plans of the extreme right, ahead of this Sunday's elections.
“We have captured a group of Venezuelans with
explosive devices, what they call electric detonators,” he said,
detailing that eight of these devices were seized, that each one would be
used for a purpose and that they could be activated by various mechanisms.
He reiterated that the explosives would
target embassies, hospitals, public service centers,
police commands and personalities of the Bolivarian Government and the opposition.
“Within Chavism, the personalities
that they would like to attack are always the same, fortunately
we take great care of ourselves and take precautions so that these things do not happen,” he said.
He stated that those captured are linked
to the so-called Coyotes network, “because they have the telephone contacts of
kidnappings here in Venezuela; that figure
that was almost missing and cases of kidnappings began to arrive in the
West of the country and the payment they were using was through cryptocurrency,
supposedly to leave no trace and the investigation began. And, coincidentally, the leader of this group is a
former officer, a disgrace of the Bolivarian National Guard who participated on April 30, Arturo José
Gómez Morante.”
He specified that Gómez Morante, who is protected by the United States government, “maintains direct links with these groups.”
