Security officials and the National Electric Corporation (CORP0OELEC), dismantled a digital mining center that was operating illegally in the Chirica de San Félix Industrial Zone, east of Ciudad Guayana, Bolivar state.
The governor of this entity, Yulisbeth García, reported that these machines were inside a warehouse for industrial use and explained that in total the authorities seized 310 machines interconnected with servers and refrigeration and ventilation equipment with high electrical consumption, a press release detailed.
He noted that this center consumed high loads of electricity from the Chirica parish network, affecting the supply to more than 350 homes in the area that were constantly suffering from fluctuations and low voltage in their homes.
“Thanks to an extraordinary operation by our glorious Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), this illegal cryptomining farm was detected (...) the equipment was seized and investigations are currently being carried out to identify and arrest those responsible for this illegal center,” he said.
