The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, said that her Government will reject any attempt at foreign intervention against the Aztec nation.

These statements came in response to rumors about possible U.S. military actions related to its alleged fight against criminal organizations.

During a press conference, Sheinbaum stressed that Mexico is open to the exchange of data and information, but not to armed incursions. The statement was made after the assassination of the mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, a fact that rekindled speculations about a possible intervention by the United States, RT reported.

The international press reported that the United States Government is evaluating sending military personnel and specialized agents to Mexican territory. The president reiterated that the national strategy is based on strengthening the judicial system and guaranteeing equitable access to rights, without resorting to confrontational schemes.

Sheinbaum announced additional security measures in Michoacán and rejected proposals that envisage a return to the warlike approaches applied in previous administrations. In addition, he ruled out practices outside the legal framework and guaranteed that his Government would not give in to external or internal pressure.
