This Thursday, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, expressed her rejection of the actions of the U.S. immigration authorities following the operation carried out by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles in which 16 migrants were arrested.
At a press conference, Sheinbaum stated that institutional support for Mexicans abroad will be maintained, through consular procedures and protection mechanisms established by foreign policy.
According to what was published by the Sputnik agency, since the beginning of Donald Trump's administration, Mexico has received more than 76,000 repatriated people. In response, support measures have been implemented, including legal advice, medical care, civil proceedings and referral to social services for humanitarian reasons.
