Simón Bolívar de Maiquetía Airport will set up four temporary terminals

The Maiquetía International Airport Institute (IAIM) announced that four temporary terminals will be set up: two for departures and two for arrivals, with a combined capacity to carry up to 1260 passengers simultaneously.

The interim infrastructures will be divided into two operating complexes. The module for international departures will cover an area of 4,300 square meters, will have four boarding gates and will be able to serve 780 users at the same time. For its part, the domestic departure terminal will have more than 3,300 square meters for the care of 480 people simultaneously, the institution details in a post on the social network Instagram.

In the arrivals area, a space of 2,550 square meters will be set up consisting of a single subdivided warehouse for domestic and international flights, in addition to an adjacent structure of 1,000 square meters intended for waiting for passengers.

These installations consist of reinforced modular metal structures, with internal drywall enclosures and polycarbonate outer covers, as well as aluminum roofs with high-strength canvas. In addition, people with reduced mobility will have assistance and ramps throughout the route, while the transfer of pets will be allowed subject to compliance with current regulations.

The airport authorities indicated that the facilities will have medical assistance, charging points for mobile devices, Wi-Fi connection and food and beverage dispensers. As for the aeronautical infrastructure, it was reported that the right runway 10 was intervened and refurbished, so it meets the highest operating standards.
