Strong explosion at a pyrotechnic factory shakes the Maltese town of Maghtab

The Maltese town of Maghtab experienced a serious industrial accident after a powerful detonation occurred at the facilities of a factory dedicated to the manufacture of pyrotechnic products. The force of the explosion was felt at a great distance, causing a rapid mobilization of citizen emergency services and police patrols in the region to coordinate essential assistance tasks.

After the initial explosion that destroyed part of the structure, a chain of minor secondary detonations was reported that hampered the first maneuvers of fire departments on the ground. The priority of the specialized teams focused on neutralizing the remaining heat sources and ensuring that there were no unexploded raw materials that would endanger local residents.

In terms of those affected, the Malta Police reported that two men were slightly injured as a result of the fall and projection of material fragments from the building. The ambulances rushed those affected to the island's reference hospital, where medical reports confirm that they are out of danger and under preventive observation.

The factory area remains cordoned off by the competent authorities, who have completely restricted pedestrian and vehicle passage while surveying work is being carried out.
