The first vice-president of the Permanent Committee on Security and Defense of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Gloria Castillo, reported this Tuesday, March 5, that the Subcommittee on Human Rights proposes to investigate diseases derived from COVID-19.

Castillo indicated that this subcommittee could do the research and its results could be published in scientific journals, according to a note published on the AN website.

In addition, he pointed out that through the published article, the Venezuelan people will have more information about the diseases caused by the virus.

He estimated that the research will reveal statistical reports, experiences of people who suffered or suffer from post-COVID pathologies or syndromes and general medical studies. He added that all the information will serve a social purpose.

Castillo emphasized that the Subcommittee on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law debated the topic of preventive medicine, which is the basis, conservation and preservation of health, being a formula for post-COVID-19. “This commission can be a fundamental pillar for our people to be informed.”

For her part, the deputy Mayra Rojas, announced that a debate was held on the consequences and impacts caused by the different diseases that have manifested themselves after COVID-19.

He added that the proposal is to educate the people within the framework of preventive medicine.

He assured that the contributions submitted to the subcommission will make a fundamental contribution to life, the human being, men, women, boys and girls who have suffered from post-COVID-19 diseases.

He said that he supports the production of a scientific article, which allows the population and society to learn, through preventive medicine, about different diseases.

For this reason, they will present the proposal to the president of the Standing Committee on Security and Defense of the Nation, Deputy Jesús Suárez Chourio, and then begin the statistically relevant investigations and the social, technical and scientific impact that the research will project.
