The authorities of the Superintendency of Banking Sector Institutions (SUDEBAN) and representatives of public and private banks held their first working meeting in 2026.

The conference, led by the Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and President of the Treasury Bank, Jimmy Berríos, served to present a solid balance sheet of the system and establish new goals focused on cybersecurity and the democratization of credit.

During the meeting, Berríos highlighted the sustained growth of the sector over the last six years, highlighting an increase of 24 percent in funding and 32 percent in the credit portfolio.

The most revealing figure was the end of fiscal year 2025, where the banking system recorded an annual net result of 1,746 million dollars. The figure represents a historic growth of 216% compared to the previous year and the best balance obtained in the last seven years.

He specified that the health of the Venezuelan banking system shows positive indicators with a delinquency that closed at just 0.84% at the end of 2025.

Berríos said that these results reflect a structural improvement that allows us to project a more regulated and stable bank. “We met to establish an agenda of priorities that directly contribute to the country's economic growth,” he stressed.
