The peaks of the Sierra Nevada National Park surprised locals and tourists when they were covered with a dense layer of snow. The phenomenon, recorded strongly at the stations of the Mukumbarí Cable Car System, such as Pico Espejo, transformed the Andean landscape into a majestic spectacle.

Humidity and low temperatures led to this event, which became a trend on social networks with impressive images of the Bolivar and Humboldt peaks. For the region, these snowfalls represent a great tourist and economic boost, attracting visitors eager to contemplate the Venezuelan geography.

Authorities and tour operators recalled the importance of preserving these ecosystems in the face of climate change. Meanwhile, Mérida celebrates this gift of nature, reaffirming its position as the destination par excellence of the Venezuelan Andes.
