Surgical plan has performed more than 2,000 surgeries in Trujillo

More than 2,000 medium and highly complex surgeries have been performed in the state of Trujillo so far this year, responding to requests made through the 1×10 Good Governance system and the VenApp.

In this regard, it became known that in the months January and February, 1,289 urgent surgeries were treated, 530 elective surgeries, and the placement of 21 pacemakers with the implantation of bicameral and unicameral devices.

Among the pathologies addressed are laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hysterectomies, radical hemicolectomy, thoracotomy for pulmonary empyema, gallstone disease, and others.

According to information published on the web portal of the newspaper Último Noticias (ÚN), the specialties served were gynecology and obstetrics, general surgery, pediatric surgery, urology, traumatology and neurosurgery; in the Doctor Pedro Emilio Carrillo University hospitals in the municipality of Valera, José Gregorio Hernández de Trujillo capital and El Vasallo Cortez in Sabana de Mendoza in the Sucre municipality.

“On the other hand, and in the first week of March, 21 patients from the general surgery service were treated by laparoscopy at the Valera hospital; while at the José Gregorio Hernández hospital in Trujillo, 42 urgent and 45 elective surgeries were performed, for a total of 87 medium and high complexity interventions,” the newspaper reported.

At the Valera University Hospital last weekend, a new day of medium-complexity surgical interventions was carried out in which patients presented herniated pathologies at the level of the abdominal, umbilical, inguinal and crural walls; in addition, vesicular lithiasis interventions were performed.
