Suriname's designated ambassador to Venezuela arrives in Caracas

This Friday, March 27, former Ambassador Georgette García Elías arrived in Caracas, who was appointed by the President of the Republic of Suriname, Jennifer Geerlings-Simons, as Head of the Diplomatic Mission in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Ambassador García Elías was received at the “Simon Bolivar” International Airport in Maiquetía by the director general for the Caribbean, Gustavo Díaz Aular, representing the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, both authorities emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between countries, especially in energy, fisheries, agriculture and education.

The bilateral relationship between Venezuela and Suriname has been characterized by maintaining close ties, seeking to consolidate long-standing strategic alliances. Both countries have promoted a common agenda of comprehensive development, with an emphasis on the defense of international principles and mutual respect.

The Ambassador is expected to deliver Credentials to the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez in the coming days.
