Temporary road closures announced in Caracas for CAF Marathon

Next Sunday, February 8, the tenth edition of the CAF Caracas 2026 Marathon will take place. This event is organized by the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) with departure and arrival at Los Caobos Park in Caracas.

The race will bring together approximately 10,000 runners over three distances: full marathon (42K), half marathon (21K) and, for the first time, 10K.

Here are the departure times:

5:50 a.m. for the wheelchair mode.

6:00 a.m. for elite athletes.

6:05 a.m. for the rest of the categories.

In this regard, the organization will have 29 hydration points, two stations with energy gels, eight medical stations, more than 50 entertainment areas, 460 volunteers and the support of more than two thousand security personnel.

In order to ensure the integrity of runners during the event, the authorities will implement temporary road closures, which will begin at 5:00 a.m. in the west of the city and at 6:00 a.m. in the east, with progressive reopening as the race progresses.

Most roads will be released around 12:30 p.m., although in some sectors it may be extended longer.

Autopista Valle-Coche

Autopista Prados del Este

Main avenue of Los Ruices

Santa Cecilia Retailer

Francisco Solano Avenue

Avenida Venezuela

Casanova Avenue

Libertador Avenue (direction El Rosal)

Access from Baralt Avenue to West Avenue 6

Other roads in the municipalities of Libertador, Chacao, Baruta and Sucre, such as avenues in Chacao (Francisco Solano, Venezuela, among others)

The Indigenous Resistance Walk will be closed in both directions, from Saturday to Sunday afternoon, as a symbolic point of refuge.

In Libertador, Bolívar, Universidad, San Martín, Páez avenues and the La India dome will be closed; while in the east, the passage will be interrupted on Francisco Solano Avenue, the main avenue of Las Mercedes, Rio de Janeiro and Francisco de Miranda, to El Marqués.
