The season of the contemporary dance play “The Firebird” came to an end this Sunday in the Sala Ríos Reyna of the Teresa Carreño Theater, with a staging performed in partnership with El Sistema and the participation of the Simón Bolívar Chamber Orchestra.

The production stood out for combining the performance of 50 young dancers with the live performance of the emblematic score by the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. The musical group was under the direction of maestro Pablo Castellanos, offering the public an experience that integrated dance and academic music on the same stage.

The closing performance included the choreographic version created by Vicente Nebrada in 1982, considered one of the most representative pieces in the repertoire of the Teresa Carreño Theater Ballet. The revival of the work was carried out by the teachers Adriana Estrada and Javier Solano.

Based on Russian legends, “The Firebird” tells a story of magic and fantasy that came to life through the talent of the performers and live orchestral accompaniment, an element that allowed us to maintain the original essence conceived by Stravinsky.

This presentation culminated a season that brought together contemporary dance and symphonic music in a large format artistic proposal, consolidating the collaboration between the Teresa Carreño Theater and El Sistema.
