The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, reported that a scientific monitoring day was held at the Idea‑Mochima Marine Research Station aimed at protecting marine-coastal ecosystems and conserving biodiversity.

The minister pointed out that during the tour in areas close to the mangroves, the presence of seahorses was recorded at different stages of development: a specimen camouflaged among algae, a young individual on the move and an adult male reproducing with fry. He indicated that these records confirm the continuity of this threatened species in its natural environment.

Jiménez explained that the technical team maintains permanent monitoring in the area to evaluate the evolution of the repopulation processes promoted in recent years. He added that these actions make it possible to consolidate key information on population dynamics and the behavior of marine ecosystems.

The minister affirmed that this work is part of the policies promoted by the Bolivarian Government to strengthen science at the service of life, with an emphasis on the conservation of vulnerable species and the balance of marine systems for future generations.
