The repair works on towers 34, 35 and 36 of the Simón Rodríguez residential complex, in Ciudad Tiuna, are 70% complete, after the damage suffered by the bombing of January 3 by the United States that ended with the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.
A total of 120 workers from the Ministry of Public Works, the Mayor's Office of Caracas and the Government of the Capital District are carrying out the waterproofing of the roofs and the replacement of the windows, according to a press release from Úlmas Noticias.
“Multidisciplinary teams from the three institutions are responsible for the waterproofing of roofs, as well as the restoration and installation of glass in the windows,” said José Morales, an engineer at the Ministry of Public Works.
The actions also include the recovery of biosaludable parks, horizontal signage, paved car parks, restoration of booths, painting of murals and cleaning of green areas, which have an impact on more than 4,200 families.
Work on block five began on January 9 with the People's Power Solutions Brigades. On the 19th, the Public Works staff, composed of residents of the housing estate, joined together to move forward together with the City Council and the GDC in the recovery of the 28 blocks.
