The Bolivarian Government, through the Ministry of Popular Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP), works in alignment with other State institutions to advance the Zero Vulnerability Plan, with the purpose of mitigating the permanence of children and adolescents living on the streets in the country, as well as guaranteeing decent and humane treatment that facilitates social reintegration.

During the radio program “Culture and Peace”, which is broadcast by MIJP Radio Multimedia of the MPPRIJP, the general director of Crime Prevention, Lusmialit Perdomo, explained that through the Brigades of Hope of the Misión Negra Hipolita Foundation, special days and the recruitment of citizens have been carried out, almost every week.

Perdomo highlighted that there are two different populations, which are characterized by low and high permanence on the street. “When we talk about this topic, we can mention that low permanence means working informally on the street and then returning to their homes because they have a family nucleus; now, high permanence refers to people who live on the street for any reason,” explained the MPPRIJP press review.

On the other hand, Yurabi Ruíz, director of the National Network Line, pointed out that during primary care, research is carried out to reveal what is happening to people who live on the street, if it is due to family abandonment, discrimination, among other factors. “The job is about earning their trust and offering them emotional, medical and educational support,” he said.

Ruíz , called on the population to join the “Warm a Heart” campaign, which aims to collect clothes, mattresses, shoes, toys, hygiene items and food, among others, to help people with scarce resources and in street situations.
