This Tuesday, the first vaccination cycle against foot-and-mouth disease began in the municipality of Cristóbal Rojas, in the state of Miranda, in order to prevent the viral disease affecting cattle, pigs, sheep and goats.

The activity was carried out in the Arenales III sector of La Mata, said the mayor of Charallave, Yuhismar Hernández, who added that the immunization will run until June 18 and will treat more than 800 animals from all over the jurisdiction.

The care of cattle is led by the National Institute for Integral Agricultural Health (INSAI), the Ministry of Agriculture and Land and the Directorate for Economic and Productive, Agrarian and Agrourban Development of Cristóbal Rojas.

In addition, immunization is part of an agreement with the Simón Rodríguez University in which the veterinary students of this house of studies support the day and received the induction for vaccination.
