The Bolivarian Government of Miranda inaugurates the country's first observatory against gender-based violence

This Tuesday, authorities of the Bolivarian Government inaugurated the Isaura Pérez State Observatory on Violence Against Women and Gender Justice, located in Los Teques.
According to information issued by the Government, this action forms part of national public policies regarding the protection and protection of women's rights, and constitutes Miranda as the first entity to inaugurate these spaces.
In this regard, it became known that the observatory will serve as the articulating arm of the Network of Community Defenders throughout the state, which to date has more than 2,700 women distributed in the 451 communes and 3,964 communal councils in the region, with the objective of territorializing gender justice and empowering communities in the prevention of violence, early detection and action of reported cases.
In this regard, the Minister of Popular Power for Women and Gender Equality, Yelitze Santaella, said that “today we show Miranda as a model, and we hope that this model will be replicated in all the states of the country and its multiple territories” and explained that, in connection with the peace quadrants, she will use technological mechanisms to treat victims of violence in a quick, safe and timely manner.
For his part, the governor of the Bolivarian state of Miranda, Elio Serrano, said that the center will serve as the receiving body for complaints generated in the 21 municipalities of the entity.
“We are going to be able to build the statistics that strengthen public policies,” Serrano concluded.
