The Ministry of People's Power for the Social Work Process (MPPPST) is working to adapt its internal structure, with the purpose of improving care mechanisms in the regions and ensuring maximum efficiency in labor matters.

This process, following instructions from the National Executive, seeks to build a closer, more agile management with solid technical support for all workers in the country.

The strategic lines of this institutional transformation were presented by the Deputy Minister of Labor, Rafmely Valera, together with the general director of Labor and Inspection, Ángel León, during a virtual meeting that brought together the teams of the inspectorates and the Office of the Workers' Attorney at a national level.

The new organizational structure contemplates the abolition of the previous four offices of vice-ministers to concentrate and energize management in two strategic areas: the Office of the Deputy Minister of Labor Social Security and the Office of the Deputy Minister of Labor. Under the leadership of Deputy Minister Valera, this last office will operate through two units for citizen care: the General Directorate of Labor and Inspection, in charge of Ángel León, and the General Directorate of the Office of the Attorney General for Workers, assumed by Frania Bastardo, an official from the National Court Inspectorate.

Presenting the authorities, Valera recalled the essence of this renewal effort and emphasized. “These offices are the face of the ministry. This is where workers arrive to express their employment situation and to receive guidance. We must be ready with the greatest vocation to provide respectful, professional and efficient answers,” emphasized, a press release from the Ministry of Labor.

As part of this plan for the optimization of administrative and operational processes, the transition of 24 state directorates towards the formation of 12 zone coordinators at the national level is being implemented. This adaptation will make it possible to strengthen the technical cohesion and functioning of regional work teams.

In this sense, the new territorial distribution establishes the Capital Zone, comprised of the Capital District, La Guaira and Miranda, with headquarters in Caracas.

In addition, the Central Zone, comprising Aragua and Carabobo, with headquarters in Maracay, and the Central Western Zone, which includes Yaracuy, Lara and Trujillo, with headquarters in Barquisimeto, is established.

The Andean Zone and South of the Lake, made up of Táchira, Mérida and the municipalities of the South of the Lake of the state of Zulia, will be based in San Cristóbal. For its part, the Northwest Zone will cover the rest of the state of Zulia and the state of Falcón with headquarters in Maracaibo. The South Zone will consist of the state of Bolívar and Guayana Esequiba, with headquarters in Puerto Ordaz.

Towards the eastern regions, the Eastern Zone will correspond to the state of Anzoátegui, with headquarters in Barcelona, while the Northeastern Zone will integrate Sucre and Nueva Esparta, with headquarters in Cumaná. Additionally, the Western Plains Zone will bring together Portuguesa and Barinas based in Guanare.

In addition, the Ministry of Transportation reported that the regions corresponding to Central Plains (Cojedes and Guárico), South-West (Apure and Amazonas) and Oriental (Monagas and Delta Amacuro) are currently under evaluation with their institutional authorities.

In this regard, Bastardo called for team cohesion and announced that a general management diagnosis is being completed to consolidate the guidelines of the National Executive. In addition, the director indicated that rigorous management of statistics will be prioritized to evaluate the effectiveness of responses in each region.

Finally, to ensure the success of this transition, the authorities confirmed that the process will be accompanied by an immediate plan of continuous training for all civil servants of the public labor administration.

In addition, an agenda of visits and face-to-face deployments will be developed in the different inspectorates to ensure technical support and direct contact throughout the national territory.
