Venezuela's National Risk Management System (SNGR) is still deployed to combat and control various forest fires registered in national parks and strategic areas in the country's central region.
During this weekend, a joint action was held by the Forest Fire Department of the National Park Institute (INPARQUES), Civil Protection (PC) and volunteer groups, to contain most of the events and protect important natural areas.
In this regard, the Minister for Ecosocialism, Alfred Nazareth Ñáñez, in his Telegram account, offered a balance sheet on the work in the different affected areas.
Thanks to the rapid intervention of the teams, the fire in the Waraira Repano National Park (Quebrada Anauco Sector), Macarao National Park (Loma de Kennedy, Lagunetica), and in the Cerro Platillón Natural Monument (Guárico state), the situation was brought under control.
Ñañez specified that there is still an active fire on the Regional Highway of the Center near Tazón, which is attended by the Caracas Fire Department, PC Libertador and Inparks, whose officials are making efforts to stop the spread of the flames.
