The application process for candidates for communal judges and justices of the peace concluded this Sunday, December 1, in all communal circuits, on the way to the election called for next December 15, after the approval of the Organic Law of Justice and Communal Peace by the National Assembly (AN), which establishes that they will be responsible for the administration of justice in their respective communities.
The inhabitants of Palo Verde, Petare parish in the Sucre municipality, in Miranda state, met at the Friendship Park to present their candidacies, the Telesur website reported.
He specified that at that meeting an electoral committee composed of the seven communal councils was established, responsible for verifying that the documentation submitted by the candidates was correct and complete.
In this regard, the member of the Palo Verde organizing committee, Gladys Blanco, supported the application process and stressed that this event represents significant work for the community, since the justice of the peace will be the person they will go to if they face a problem. “We needed it,” he said.
The justice of the peace will act as a body receiving complaints that will complement the work of the one hundred existing justices of the peace in the municipality.
In addition, this body will be responsible for conciliation, mediation and arbitration, but it will also ensure the rights of children and adolescents.
