The Brazilian Civil Defense reported that the number of deaths due to floods in the state of Rio Grande do Sul increased to 177.
In this regard, he indicated that one person died in the municipality of Taquarí, while almost 400,000 people were affected by the flooding of the rivers, last April. In addition, they are still searching for 37 people.
The floods have affected more than 60% of the state's territory, affecting 478 municipalities in this state bordering Argentina and Brazil, according to a note from Xinhua.
The most affected municipality is Canoas, in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, with 31 deaths due to floods caused by the flooding of the Guaíba River.
