Natural gas prices in Europe skyrocketed after attacks on energy infrastructure in the Middle East last Wednesday and Thursday, rising to 35%, Bloomberg reports.
According to the influential British newspaper Financial Times, gas prices in the region rose to 70.7 euros per MWh, their highest level since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East.
The rise in gas occurs in parallel with the uptick in oil. Brent reached $112.24 per barrel this Thursday, in a market that once again focuses on energy security and the risk of interruptions in the Gulf. Although its cost exceeded 113 dollars per barrel during the day.
Texas intermediate oil (WTI) stands at $96.52 per barrel, while Murban crude rose to $116.77 per barrel.
