The Venezuelan Science Olympiad began in all high schools in the country

The Venezuelan Youth Science Olympiad began in all high schools in the national territory, with the theme “Feathers and songs: exploring the world of birds”, in order to work on biodiversity, classification, ornithology and conservation, through field observation and study, said the Minister of Popular Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez.

He stressed that the purpose of this initiative is to encourage the creative potential and interest in science of high school students, given the fear that society sowed for years to study scientific knowledge.

“We are going to participate in this Olympics and in all the specific ones that already exist, in chemistry, in mathematics, let's not be afraid of science,” he said.

For her part, the Deputy Minister for the Communalization of Science for Production, Danmarys Hernández, said that students participating in this Olympics will be able to explore new scientific knowledge and demonstrate in the two phases of the competition, one of which is the participation of all high schools, in which two teams per state will be selected for the final phase.

In the Venezuelan Youth Science Olympiad, each educational unit in the national territory participates with an Olympic team composed of a teacher and five students from the third to the fifth year of secondary education.

This meeting strengthens the country's food and technological sovereignty, as well as the interest of young people in scientific research.
