For the first time in Portuguese lands, sister peoples with Bolivarian heritage come together to commemorate the 193rd anniversary of the death of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, which occurred on December 17, 1830.

In an initiative proposed by the Venezuelan ambassador to Portugal, Mary Flores, together with the ambassadors of Colombia, Panama and Peru, at the commemorative and symbolic ceremony, they paid homage to the memory of the Father of the Fatherland, through a floral offering presented in front of the monument that stands on Avenida da Liberdade, in the city of Lisbon.

The public event was accompanied by the embassies of the Latin American and Caribbean Group (Grulac), the diplomatic corps of the Venezuelan Consulate General accredited in Lisbon, authorities of the Portuguese Government and civil society. In addition, the national anthems of each country were sung with the collaboration of the National Republican Guard (GNR) Marching Band.

Under the thought of the Liberator of a single united America and with the flag of Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace, not only was the memory of the independence leader honored, but they also celebrated together a shared history, which consolidates friendship and promotes cooperation between the nations present.
