The Israeli Navy kidnapped the crew members of the ship Madleen, which is part of the Freedom Flotilla, a humanitarian mission aimed at transporting donations for the citizens of the Gaza Strip. Prior to boarding the ship, Zionist forces sprayed an irritating substance to the occupants through quadcopters.
Through the Telegram of the humanitarian mission, which updates its route live, its members reported that the connection to Madleen has been lost. “The Israeli Army has boarded the ship, the operation represents a serious assault, and violates international laws, due to its execution in international waters and against a civilian vessel, which carries hundreds of kilograms of humanitarian aid for Gazans.”
The volunteers intended to break the Israeli siege on the entry of aid in the midst of the deep humanitarian crisis experienced by Gazans due to incessant Israeli attacks, the destruction of more than 80% of the enclave's vital infrastructure and the constant siege of their hospitals.
“They're releasing chemicals. This is another war crime that is about to happen,” said activists aboard the Madleen, who claim that Israeli drones launched chemical substances at the unarmed passengers of the humanitarian ship.
Direct communications with volunteers remain blocked, and the Telegram channel requested to pressure national governments to demand the release of the detained activists, including the Swedish citizen Greta Thunberg, who gained international recognition since 2018 for her protests against climate change.
